Celebrating Five Years of Enlightened Broadcasting

The University's radio station is celebrating its fifth year on the air, attracting a large audience of regular listeners in Fairfield. According to University Executive Vice President Craig Pearson, KHOE was founded as the first radio station in the world to broadcast 24-hour-a-day Maharishi Gandharva Veda music throughout the year.
Since it's inception, it has been continuously broadcasting Maharishi Gandharva Veda music every day of the year. This service has been offered on a special side band for subscribers since 1997, in order to satisfy the Federal Communication Commission's requirement for the main station, at 90.5 FM, to broadcast a diverse range of programming.
"In addition to faculty and student presentations, the station's main channel offers a wide range of music programming for the international
community on campus and residents in Fairfield," Mr. Pearson said. "We're delighted that several hundred people in Fairfield are currently taking advantage of the Maharishi Gandharva Veda music channel, which is a cost-effective and powerful Consciousness-Based technology."
According to Stan Stansberry, station director, Maharishi Gandharva Veda music is very special because it has been identified as one of the 40 aspects of the Veda and Vedic Literature. "These are the melodies of Nature, promoting harmony and coherence in the individual listener and generating a nourishing influence in the whole environment."
"The station's state-of-the-art equipment allows advance programming and uninterrupted broadcast of the appropriate melody for each three-hour time period of the day. "In addition, we adjust our programming to broadcast melodies suitable to each season," Mr. Stansberry said. Fairfield businesses have readily embraced the opportunity to have the 24-hour channel playing in offices when employees have gone home for the day.
Bruce Plaut of Danaher Oil Company said, "We have always found the melodies of Maharishi Gandharva Veda music a great support for the harmony and coherence of our business."
Telecommunications company USA Global Link eagerly ordered 12 of the KHOE receivers as soon as the side channel began broadcasting. "We have been enjoying the positive influence of Maharishi Gandharva Veda ever since," said Tom Morgan, marketing manager at the company.
